Every brand has a beginning. Ours started in Chicago in 2018 — born from a vision, a lifestyle, and a belief that true success starts from within.

How It All Started
The Phly Embassy Lifestyle Brand was founded by DeJuan Short right here in Chicago, Illinois. Growing up in one of the most vibrant, resilient cities in the world, DeJuan saw firsthand the power of community, culture, and self-belief. But he also saw what happens when people neglect themselves — mentally, physically, and spiritually.
That's where the idea for The Phly Embassy was born: a brand that doesn't just sell clothing, but represents a way of living. A movement rooted in healthy living, self-love, and the relentless pursuit of growth.
What Does "PHLY" Mean?
You've probably noticed we spell it differently — and that's intentional.
PHLY isn't just a word. It's a philosophy. It stands for living with intention, confidence, and purpose. It's about being the best version of yourself — not for anyone else, but for you.
Our motto says it all:
